Floral Challenge
Are you confident making floral arrangements? Creative? Able to use items you have available? Work well under time limits and aren't distracted by observers? Then we invite you to enter the "Floral Challenge" contest at the Mid-Atlantic Home & Flower Show!
A theme will be selected for each floral challenge, and three contestants will be given 20 minutes (and a surprise mix of flowers, greenery and other items) to create a floral masterpiece. Contestants can bring their own cutting tools; everything else is provided. This event is always exciting, and often unpredictable!
Participants will be selected on a first-call basis. Floral challenges are scheduled for each day of the show, and contestants can enter any of the following three categories:
1. Beginner
2. Garden Club or experienced floral designer
3. Professional floral designer If selected, we will contact you with the competition times. A "Design By Committee" class will be held on Sunday afternoon. Three groups of four team members each will construct an arrangement within an allotted time frame, BUT this contest will have a surprise "turn" to it! At the conclusion of each contest, the arrangements will be given away.
